::Like Mother, Like Son::

(Embeded video)

I absolutely love this kat's work. And his momma's a bad mama jama too. Photographer and artist Hank Willis Thomas and his mom, NYU professor & chair Deborah Willis, are shining examples of how to adeptly examine the intersection of race, culture, and commerce. If you didn't catch his Unbranded exhibit, check his site online. In the meantime, peep the lecture he did with his mom above. So dope seeing a mom and son team doin' the damn thing. Makes me think about the relationship between Yeezy and the late Dr. Donda West. As the adage goes, bring up a child in the way they will go, and when they are old they won't depart from it. Let that marinate.
